About the Project
This North-facing garden room allowed us the flexibility to maximise the glass area with two sets of bifold doors - without worrying about any risk of overheating - and the result is a beautiful light-filled gym that opens right out onto the garden for a wonderful indoor/outdoor experience. Inclement weather is no obstacle either: a generous roof overhang protects the space from rain even with the doors fully opened... and of course high levels of insulation and an air-source heat pump keep the gym cool in Summer and warm in Winter when the doors are closed. A mirror wall at one end provides Stuart & Sarah with a safe gym environment and makes both the gym and the garden look deceptively large.
Stuart's Workshop
A generously sized workshop occupies one end of the building, providing project space and storage. It's always a good idea to include storage, as our buildings often replace existing sheds.
Landscaping
Not many garden building companies offer a landscaping service - but to us it's an essential part of the job... what is the point of a beautiful new garden room if you have to navigate a muddy lawn to get to it! Here we extended Sarah & Stuart's patio with generous oversized steps and a whole new seating area, all laid in Indian sandstone to match their existing patio (which we tidied up and re-pointed to complete the look).
